The Oesterbar facilitates culinary and cultural getaway

For the best Dover sole and oysters Jan Wieger visits the Oyster Bar on Leidseplein in Amsterdam. “They are really great.” The restaurant has, according to Van der Linden, become a household name in the capital. “And Oyster dinner is nice to combine with another cultural outing, as the theater.”

Fruits de mer

The Oesterbar is a cozy restaurant with an authentic Amsterdam atmosphere. Here you can enjoy a tasty lunch or dinner. Guests consider themselves to be, in their own words, in a French brasserie. Van der Linden finds himself a lucky man as the property owner. “In the summer time I indulge myself with delicious seafood on the terrace in the middle of the Leidseplein.”

Culinary and cultural

Many concert- and theater-lovers have found the Oesterbar already, as the restaurant lies just steps away from the City Theatre, the De La Mar Theatre en Paradiso. That knowing the owner plays it smart. He serves a theater menu next to the regular menu until eight o’clock in the evening.

The menu

The specialties oysters, fresh sole and various seafood you’ll find on the menu. But also course dishes of the present time. But the Oesterbar not only welcomes dinner guests, including those who come “only” for fresh oysters with a nice glass of wine. The restaurant also has an extensive, French-oriented wine list and a variety of wines by the glass.
