“Contemporary starter homes in post-war blocks of flats Dudokhaken’

Dudokhaken is a housing complex with exceptional value and an urban jewel of Hoen Property Management. The blocks of flats are named after the renowned architect Willem Marinus Dudok and lie on the outskirts of Amsterdam-Geuzenveld. Dudok designs include the town hall in Hilversum and in many residential areas in the Netherlands houses realized in the reconstruction period.

Experience

Hoen has managed to acquire the complex of 104 vacant, dilapidated houses and renovated it completely (with the exception of the characteristic Dudok outside). “Hoen has extensive experience in purchasing housing complexes for investors,” Jan Wieger said. In the case of the Dudokhaken Hoen acted according to its lean and mean-principle. “That means that we sell half of the homes and rent the other. All in the entry part of the free market sector, because there is much demand.”

Location

The properties lie deep in Amsterdam Nieuw-West, the great postwar expansion of Amsterdam, nearby the recreation areas Sloterplas and Spaarnwoude. That’s not the first place where you would expect a commercial investor. “With having the city of Amsterdam, Schiphol  airport and Haarlem really close we considered this still an interesting place.” The gorgeous apartments also have a shared courtyard.

Luxury and comfort

In the model home at the Leenhofstraat not gloom and effective organization, but modern comfort. “These days people want to look and feel what they are possibly going to buy,” says Jan Wieger. We deliberately called for a luxurious interior and inventory. There is, for example, a Boretti kitchen with appliances included. New-West is very pleased with the refurbished homes because they do the place and her surrounding area well. The government therefore has provided full cooperation.
